Foot Notes

Feet do not complete their development process until about the age of 16-18 years.

We have 22 bones in our feet at birth but by the time we complete our development we have 26! Clever thing the human body.

The distance between your elbow and your wrist is equal to the length of your feet.

On average we take around 20,000 steps per day. thats 7300000 per year. (7 million three hundred thousand) No wonder they get sore!

According to specialists we should walk heel to outside of foot to ball of foot in a rolling motion.

More than 50% of women who are 60 or over are believed to have bunions. You are not alone!

The feet are possibly the most abused part of the human body. They are subjected to tons of pressure and we dont even realise it.

Diabetes can cause poor circulation in the feet. In extreme cases this can lead to amputation. The best way of avoiding this is to purchase good quality leather shoes which fit properly.

High heels and badly fitting shoes are the biggest contributor to foot discomfort. Many people who were 60's fashion victims blame most of their foot problems on the shoes and boots (winkle pickers) they used to wear. If you enjoyed the sixties you shouldn't remember, unfortunately your feet do!
